Abstract: : This paper reviews the centennial development of higher education in China, summarizes the successful experiences on the reform and development of higher education, reveals the fundamental mission, and points out the direction for fire and rescue higher education. Finally, according to the original aspiration and mission of China Fire and Rescue Institute，the paper has put forward measures of constructing a new pattern of fire and rescue higher education in the new era, such as taking root in fire and rescue, aggregating forces, tamping the groundwork, combinating establishment and abolishment.
