Abstract: Taking a large international convention and exhibition center as an example, the problems of overlarge fire compartment and overlong safety evacuation distance exists due to the operation needs. This paper analyzes the design difficulties of the fire lane, fire compartment, safe evacuation, smoke control and smoke exhaust caused by the functional requirements,and puts forward the optimization solutions for the fire protection design according to the relevant code. The results can provide references for fire design of non- traditional large space buildings with special function, large span or large space.
