Abstract: CiteSpace was chosen in this paper. The relevant literatures on fire safety research from 2009 to 2018 were searched and sorted out. The literatures were combined and used to draw the cooperative network map of the organization, the keyword co-occurrence network map and the time zone knowledge evolution map. The fire safety study progress and hotspots as well as frontiers were studied in points of bibliometrics. In the past 10 years, the field of fire safety research has been divided into 5 research directions: fire protection design and numerical simulation research, fire rescue and emergency rescue research, fire risk and fire risk assessment research, fire management and fire prevention and control research, complex building and construction fire protection facilities research. Three frontiers were summarized by combining the time zone knowledge evolution map in the field. The research direction of the next stage of fire safety was forecasted, and three suggestions were put forward.

Key words: fire safety, research progress, CiteSpace; mapping knowledge domains
