Abstract: Abstract: In order to improve the timeliness and reliability of message delivery among emergency rescue groups in emergency communication environment, a delay tolerant network (DTN) based reliable message transmission scheme (DRMTS) is proposed aiming for the intermittent emergency network connections and the particularity of service applications. DRMTS fully considering the service characteristics, mobility model and transmission mode of emergency rescue group, effectively integrates the message publish/subscribe model, DTN routing algorithm and cache management strategy. Firstly, it uses the publish/subscribe model based on content classification to reasonably schedule the efficient distribution of emergency messages. Secondly, it adopts a generic spray DTN routing algorithm based on group mobility mode to improve the reliability of message delivery. At the same time, it follows a cache management strategy based on the importance of message content to ensure the preferential transmission of important messages. Simulation results show that, compared with the traditional DTN routing algorithm and classic FIFO caching strategy, proposed DRMTS has significant improvement in message delivery rate, transmission delay and control overhead, enhancing the reliability of message transmission.
