Study on properties of magnesium sulfate whisker composite polystyrene plate

Abstract: The magnesium sulfate whiskers were prepared with low-grade magnesite by hydrothermal synthesis. Magnesium sulfate whisker composite polystyrene plate was prepared by filling the whisker grout into the polystyrene plate by vacuum absorption. Then the influence of whisker content on the calorific value, tensile strength, thermal conductivity, smoke density and fire effluents hazard of the composite polystyrene plate were also studied .
