Abstract: In order to analyze the atomization characteristics of water spray for transformer fire extinguishment, the spray particle size under different parameters was measured by an independently established limited space experiment system, and then the influence of nozzle installation angle, nozzle diameter and spray pressure on nozzle atomization characteristics was analyzed. The results show that: when the nozzle installation angle is 0 ̊,10 ̊,20 ̊,30 ̊,the characteristic particle diameters D10, D50,D90 and volume average particle diameter are negatively and positively correlated with spray pressure and nozzle diameter, respectively. At 4 MPa, each characteristic particle size value is the least. After comprehensive analysis, it can be seen that the optimal installation angle is when the nozzle installation angle is 10̊.
