Verification of large scale calorimeter with n-heptane pool fire

Abstract: with regard to large scale calorimeter, the test in the tunnel calorimeter was carried out to correct the fire heat release rate and total heat release amount of n-heptane oil pool. Cold flow field correction was used to understand the stability and uniformity of gas flow in exhaust pipe. The pool fire correction test of n-heptane oil was carried out under different number and arrangement of oil pan. The results showed that: in the cold flow field calibration test, the volume flow rate of gas in the exhaust pipe maintains at 27.9 m3/s constantly. Through the comparison and analysis of the errors between the measured calorific value and the theoretical calorific value, the error between the measured calorific value and the theoretical calorific value is less than 10% in 6 of the 7 tests.
