Research on strengthening techniques for fire stop system of existing converter station valve hall

Abstract: In order to improve the safety performance of the fire stop system of the existing converter station valve hall, the reasonable value of the blast fortification target of the fire stop structure was researched according to the existing specifications and the discharge test data of the converter transformer. And then a fireproof and blast resistant strengthening scheme was proposed. For a typical converter station, the dynamic response process under different explosion conditions was further analyzed by LS-DYNA. The results showed that the strengthening scheme proposed in this paper can effectively meet the requirements of blast fortification targets, and the established numerical model for blast resistance analysis can guide the design of the fire stop structure of the converter station valve hall.
