Numerical simulation of blast resistant characteristics for the anti-explosion container built in airline cart

Abstract: In order to dispose of the explosives and suspected explosives in the aircraft cabin, an anti-explosion container used in airline cart was introduced. Based on the analysis method of S-ALE and fluid structure interaction(FSI), the simulation model of the anti-explosion container was setup via the LS-DYNA. The distribution and attenuation of explosion in the container was investigated, and the energy absorption effect of anti-explosion container was also analyzed. The strength of the container was estimated and the structural reinforcement was made according to the simulation. The plastic strain of cap was reduced and the safety coefficient was increased by adding materials outside the undercut of explosion-proof tank cover.
