Quantitative metallographic analysis of aluminum alloy conductors of fire electric arc beads

Abstract: Using the computer image processing technology and the metallographic analysis technique, the characteristics of the grain and the pores on the electric arc beads and globules,which formed from the aluminum alloy conductor,are analyzed,and the characteristics of the aluminum conductors are compared in order. The results show the difference on geometric parameters of aluminum alloy conductors of the electric arc beads and globules in the size and shape of the grain. In addition,the size and shape of the grains and pores,as well as the distribution of the pores,differ in the arc beads and globules formed from the aluminum conductors.
