Fire resistance of concrete-filled steel tubular column to composite beam frames with blind bolted connections

Abstract: In order to clarify fire performance of concrete filled steel tubular (CFST) column to composite beam frames with blind bolted connections, the finite element method was used to analyze the temperature field and fire resistance limit of circular CFST column to composite beam frames with blind bolted connections. The fire condition was ISO 834 standard heating curve. The research results show that the simplified blind bolted model could effectively analyze the fire resistance of circular CFST column to composite beam frame. The meshing method of CFST column cross section had little influence on the fire resistance limit of CFST column to composite beam frame. When the blind bolt connection was reliable, the failure modes of CFST column to composite beam frame reaching the fire resistance limit were mainly column failure mode and composite beam failure mode.
