Abstract: Safe evacuation is an important part of building fire prevention, and first of all, the evacuation facilities of each fire compartment should meet the needs of occupant evacuation of the same compartment. In the actual project, due to the functions, floor layout and so on, the evacuation facilities in some fire compartments cannot meet the requirements of safety evacuation independently. So it is necessary to evacuation through adjacent fire compartment. The problems existing in the use of adjacent fire compartment as a way of evacuation were analyzed and was verified by numerical simulation, and suggestions to improve the corresponding technical requirements were put forward.
